3 Tips For Memorizing Any Scripture
The Bible has been explained by bible scholars to be the Basic Information Beyond Life on Earth. It contains the all-time and everlasting words of the Creator which provides life for His creation here on earth and beyond the earth. It is written that “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35 NIV).
The Psalmist says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 AMP). As a Christian, it is a privilege to allow oneself for the word of God to be inscribed upon the tablet of one’s heart. Indeed, God’s word which is the sword of the Spirit and is sharper than two-edged sword should be installed in the system of every Christian as it has proven to be a guaranteed weapon against the enemy. Every Christian wages war against the devil. And it is important to prepare for battles before they come. A way of preparing for the battle is arming one’s self with the word of God and this is achieved with the memorization of the word of God.
To help memorize any scripture, these three tips have been of help to many.
- Divine Assistance: Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. It is important to seek for divine assistance for the ease to learn and retain what one learns especially with regards to His word.
- Routine Practices: These are activities that are to be kept regularly to refreshen oneself with all the scriptures that would be memorized. These include highlighting or writing out specific verses and recording them in audio form to listen to during the day.
- Roll out Practices: These involve making the scripture real to one’s life. One need to apply the word by using the verses to pray, and by making declaration with them anytime situation calls for it.
